Meet the Artist
San Isidro de El General, Costa RicaCynthia Mora is a Costa Rica–based visual artist whose work explores painting as a space of presence, transformation, and inner coherence. Trained in Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica and the Milan Institute in the United States, she combines strong technical foundations with an intuitive, process-led approach. Influenced by extensive travel and cultural immersion in Costa Rica, Europe, and Asia, her work reflects a synthesis of lived experience, memory, and place.
Moving fluidly between abstraction and realism, her paintings are characterized by expressive brushwork, layered textures, and a luminous use of light influenced by Impressionism. For Cynthia, painting is a spiritual practice—an act of listening and allowing meaning to emerge rather than be imposed. She lives and works in Bahía Ballena, Costa Rica, where the ocean, tropical light, and surrounding biodiversity continue to shape her evolving body of work.
Cynthia Mora has extensive experience leading art workshops at different international schools and private events. These workshops include different printmaking techniques: Linoleum, Gelly prints. Intuitive Drawing, Drawing, Photography, Painting: mixed media, oils, watercolor, chalk, and ceramics: hand-built techniques, Art History.
