Moxy Hotel jump lobby by Samantha Pacheco in New York
Moxy Hotel jump lobby
This wall is located in the jump lobby of the Moxy Hotel in Charlotte, NC, commissioned by the hotel owner. The wall is appx. 15ft high and 25ft long. They asked for a piece representative of the city of Charlotte, naturally including their sports teams (panthers, hornets), the state flower (dogwoods), and the city’s skyline. We also included an elements like a traditional Catawba pot to honor the indigenous peoples of North Carolina, and gold bars for the state’s mining history. The project director, Tripp Barnes, and myself digitally designed the artwork, and hired a couple of assistants to help us complete the piece. We used all acrylic paints and a satin finish to seal it.
