Commissioned by the city of Toronto’s public art initiative, StreetART Toronto, I painted this bicycle track barrier in July of 2021 and is 16ft in length. Using latex paint, I applied this image by hand onto the concrete barrier. I wanted to create a vibrant landscape for passers-by as they navigate downtown Toronto.
Hi everyone! I'm Julie, a multi-media artist who has a love of colour!
I am inspired by basically everything surrounding my everyday life, but find particular joy in painting landscapes and florals. I love to build up my images with bold colour-blocking techniques, combined with more detailed linework.
I have been a professional artist for the past decade, and hold a BFA in Drawing & Painting from OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. Since graduation, I have exhibited both locally and internationally in galleries and art markets. I also have experience painting murals on a number of different surfaces; including concrete, metal and wood. I genuinely love creating artwork that adds a dash of colour and a whimsical touch to its' location. I am happy to design murals, custom signage, or commissioned artwork. I am proficient using a number of different media, including oils, latex, acrylic, watercolour, inks, pastels, and aerosol.
Thank you for your interest and I look forward to any inquiries!
