Monarch Journey
This mural is the length of an entire city block, at 4000 square feet. It was commissioned for the center of downtown Charlotte to revitalize the surrounding area for the new multi-million dollar real estate development project called Monarch Market. The mural features the journey of the monarch butterfly through Charlotte and some of its food sources.
Meet the Artist

Natasha is a mural artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She has a BA in philosophy and religion from Harvard College and received the 2010 Gardner Fellowship for a year of international creative exploration after graduation. Her fellowship led her to the embroidery and textile traditions of Kolkata, India, and she spent three years in Kolkata studying and working in textile design.
Her mural work is influenced by the color and rhythm of textile traditions, as well as her personal connection to nature and meditative states. Her murals can be found across the world, in Mexico, Bali, India, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Jersey, Washington, DC, and New York. Her clients include Disney, Coach, Governor’s Ball Music Festival, Ballston Quarter Mall, Yumi Kim, and many private clients such as fashion brands, hotels, and restaurants.
