Milford Recreation Center by Ryan Coleman in Smyrna

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan is a prominent multidisciplinary artist specializing in large-scale mural, sculpture and painting installations. His distinctive style, a fusion of traditional cartoon animation influences, gestural abstraction, and philosophical ideas has made him a sought after collaborator for major corporate and institutional collections. Ryan grew up in Jacksonville, FL, and received a BFA in Painting from the Atlanta College of Art in 2001. Ryan worked briefly in animation at Cartoon Network after graduation and before moving to New York City where he served as a studio assistant to renowned pop artist Jeff Koons from 2003-2011. Currently, he lives and works in Smyrna, GA. Ryan's work is held in prestigious international collections, including the High Museum of Art, Coca-Cola Corporate Headquarters, and Delta Airlines. His ability to translate complex, gestural energy into permanent architectural features has led to significant commissions for global brands such as 20th Century Fox Television, Canopy by Hilton, W Hotels, the Ritz-Carlton, NCR Global Headquarters, SCAD, Northside Hospital, among numerous other private and public collections. "The scribble represents a spontaneous gesture at the inception of an idea. I love the idea of freezing that gesture, memorializing it as a constant reminder of what’s possible."
