Meet the Artist
Toronto, CanadaI make Portraits that are abstract & layered. They are not traditional vanity portraits. I can do simple photography portraits & I style clothes/hair/make-up & photograph 3 different looks for you to choose from. However, once my clients started saying "I’m tired of staring myself everytime I come home, even if my husband & kids love it…Could we do something more abstract?" , I started to think about what a portrait really IS. In layered, collage portraits, the focus is the essence of the subject. I layer many different photographs from our shoot ontop of eachother & create an abstract collage portrait of many different moods & types of body language & merge them in to a more meaningful, perhaps more authentic, portrait of who the subject really IS behind the veneer of daily smiles & handshakes. I just had an exhibit which sold out in one day (50 pieces). My clients are then happy and don’t feel vain in anyway with the abstract layered works adorning their walls.
