Margot Robbie Mural
This mural was a homage to artist H.R Giger, an artist that inspired me greatly in my early days. His use of the airbrush was transformational to me, blending fine art style with graphic art. I believe he paved the way for spray can artists of today and I wanted to show this generation some of their forgotten roots.
The Mural was commissioned by the Strange Festival 2023, and can still be seen on Barrack street, Perth.
Meet the Artist
Perth, AustraliaHi, I’m Michael, a mural artist based in Perth, Western Australia. I’ve been painting Murals and Scenic art professionally for over 20 years, including a significant 12-year stint in Hong Kong, where I honed my skills and adapted to diverse artistic demands. My expertise ranges from large-scale commercial murals for top brands, to engaging public art and private murals that transforms spaces. If I had to pick a specialisation it would be Photo realism, but I am open to all styles of murals and can adapt my style and technique instantly to suit the job. I also hold a Masters in fine art and Lecture in Scenic art part-time at ECU, fostering the next generation of artists, who in turn, often join me on my larger projects when they graduate.
I’m here to paint stories, one wall at a time.
