Machines Don't Get to Rest
This is a very recent one I did which is on my website (prints coming soon!):
Born out of illness and relentless motion, this work captures the particular madness of being unwell while the world keeps demanding things of you.
The background breathes with poured acrylic; black and murky blue currents pulling in every direction at once.
Gold sparks and cobalt lines weave between the figures like an overloaded circuit like too many demands and not enough clarity. Yet look closer and the string that tangles also binds. The wires carry something vital between one body and the next of the quiet, invisible current of people holding each other up.
The result is a piece that portrays exhaustion and somehow still holding together. Not because the machines are strong enough alone, but because nothing in this painting exists in isolation. Every figure, however fractured, remains tethered to something and someone. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Are we better off alone or with support?

Meet the Artist
Bristol, United KingdomI am a self-taught, neurodivergent, Bristol (England) based artist and have been drawing and painting for over 25 years. I have had 5 solo exhibitions in Bristol over the years including one sell out show. I have also exhibited at comic and gaming cons and art fairs in Bristol and London. I have also sold canvas work in California and Hawaii as well as commissions in the UK. I lived in Sydney, Australia for a few years where I taught a arts sessions at Sydney College and sold some larger scale canvasses. I have been involved in community mural projects in South London and Bath.
My unique style has developed as a form of self-expression through abstract and surreal forms. My influences come from sci-fi, fantasy, Manga and street artists such as Dalek and also more scientific artists such as Heath Robinson. Hip hop and street art has also featured heavily in things that inspire me.
I draw and paint a lot of robots and monsters symbolising this, that and everything in life.
I can do digital artwork, hand drawn and painted work on canvas as well as mural contracts. Please see my website for original paintings and prints for sale on my website and Instagram for some mural work.
Thanks for your interest and support!
