Lucky Chinese Restaurant Mural by Yansa in Seattle
Lucky Chinese Restaurant Mural
This interior mural was created for Lucky Chinese Restaurant to enhance the dining atmosphere with culturally rich and symbolically meaningful artwork. The piece features an elegant arowana and a graceful koi fish, both revered in Chinese culture as emblems of prosperity, strength, and perseverance. The composition is adorned with delicate yellow plum blossoms, representing resilience and renewal—qualities deeply rooted in traditional Chinese symbolism.
Painted directly onto the interior wall, the mural blends flowing movement with fine detail to bring a sense of tranquility and good fortune to the space. The use of a limited yet vibrant color palette helped integrate the artwork seamlessly with the restaurant’s existing décor while creating a visual focal point for guests. This project reflects my ongoing interest in storytelling through culturally inspired, nature-based imagery in communal spaces.
Meet the Artist
Seattle, United StatesI'm a Seattle-based artist and aspiring muralist with a passion for bringing bold, expressive work into public spaces. Though primarily self-taught, I also studied at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, where I deepened my understanding of form, color, and composition. While my experience is still growing, my focus is clear—I aim to create large-scale murals that energize and connect communities. I'm currently seeking new opportunities to collaborate and bring meaningful visual stories to life across the city and beyond.
