My creative practice is a living bridge between modern painterly expression and deep ancestral roots. With over twenty years of creating, | approach the canvas not just as a surface, but as a space for historical connection, emotional translation, and community healing. Whether | am executing a public mural or working intimately in my studio, my goal remains unchanged: to breathe vibrant color, spirit, and light into spaces and objects that invite transformation. Art is ancestral to me. My deepest inspiration is gathered from my Chiricahua Apache and Pascua Yaqui heritage. Through these roots, | view each brushstroke as both an individual emotional release and a direct connection between the past and the present. Modern-day events evoke collective emotions in all of us, and my studio work acts to capture those contemporary realities on canvas. | translate these fleeting moments in history into paintings, visualizing dreams and solidifying emotion into permanent form. My technical process is deeply intertwined with my respect for the environment. | create primarily on upcycled canvas, giving new life to broken materials, discarded textiles, and found objects. This method allows me to honor the earth while layering texture and history into the foundation of my work before the paint even touches the surface. Guided by a Two-Spirit perspective, my work naturally navigates and maintains a delicate balance between worlds—bridging the traditional with the contemporary, the internal emotional landscape, and the gallery setting with public community spaces. My work as a painter and muralist is driven by the belief that visual art has the power to shift environments and uplift people. By merging my cultural foundations with a dedicated studio practice, | strive to create art that functions as a source of positive energy and a tool to shape the artist spaces here in Oregon
