Lizard Queen
24x30" oil on panel. 24x30” oil on panel. Reigning over a planet of scaled warriors, ‘The Lizard Queen’ is always ready for battle, whether it’s imminent or not. She is the second in my series ‘Natural Armour’ representing women as animals who have natural armour. The Lizard Queen is fierce, fearless, and responsible for protecting her entire species. Some may call her hypervigilant, even ruthlessly reactive, but to let down her guard could possibly destroy her and her planet. She’s not always friendly or easy to get along with, but she is beautiful and radiant and her nature is valid. 'Natural Armour' aims to validate ego defenses in women by highlighting the beauty behind their armour. In women, self-protective measures are all-to-often deemed as character flaws. Rather than flawed, I wish to honor their adaptive qualities, thereby reducing stigma and easing the pressure to conform.

Meet the Artist
New York, United StatesI am a fine art painter and muralist based out of Brooklyn. Most of my murals can be seen in hospitals, schools, and other institutions where I frequently partner with organizations in order to deliver eye-catching imagery in-line with the function of the space and the populations it serves. I also create street art, corporate and residential murals, and backdrops for film and TV. Some of my biggest clients have included: Disney, NY Health and Hospitals, Mt. Sinai Children's Hospital, NYC Family Court, and many more. In my personal work, I focus on imaginative realism portraits and landscapes that often embody a psychological theme. While I most enjoy using traditional oil painting methods, I regularly create commission-based artwork for private clients using a variety of styles, mediums, and techniques.
