Liverpool Empire, Backstage Theatre Mural by One Red Shoe Murals And Artwork in Warrington
Liverpool Empire, Backstage Theatre Mural
One Red Shoe designed and hand-painted an enormous, eight level stairwell mural for The Liverpool Empire. We researched past performers and theatre history and had great pleasure in transforming quite a bleak, beige stairwell into a colourful, informative journey for current performers, staff and students.
Acts like The Beatles, David Bowie, Laurel and Hardy, Sandra Bernhardt, Frank Sinatra...
We put a great emphasis on research in this project, we were able to find archival proof of the rumour Charlie Chaplin had actually performed there, by pouring through the national newspaper archive and cross-referencing Chaplin biographies.
The mural has a QR code to take you to a page of information about the different elements.

Hello, I have been designing and creating high quality artwork for 25 years since my BA(hons) in illustration. I've enjoyed Illustrating books and book covers, album covers, posters and comics, exhibited and sold paintings/drawings both nationally and internationally.
