Intro to modern brush pen calligraphy
Calligraphy is a fabulous way to unwind and switch off! Calligraphy is defined as the art of drawing beautiful letters. Brush pens are ideal for beginners as they are easily accessible, less messy than dip pens & ink and you can practice anywhere.
This session will be perfect for beginners looking to try brush pen calligraphy while enjoying some time to relax and experience the mindful effects of practising beautiful hand-lettering.
You’ll spend time getting to grips with using the pen and learning the technique of release and pressure to create consistent thick and thin lines. Using worksheets, I will guide you to create calligraphy strokes and letter shapes, moving on to forming the lowercase, then uppercase alphabet and joining the letters to form words.
Now you will be ready to create a beautiful Greetings Card and Gift Tags. Choose from a selection of templates, transfer the lettering onto your card and carefully draw the letters of your chosen designs.
I will provide you with all the tools you need, demonstrations and one-on-one support to troubleshoot any individual difficulties you come across.
As well as your hand-lettered Card Designs, you will leave with a brush pen, worksheets, templates, and a list of resources; everything you need to continue to have an enjoyable time practising brush pen calligraphy. Before you know it, you'll be creating greeting cards, party invitations, and artworks for your home and to give as gifts!
