Legends of Boston by Taylor Gallegos in San Diego
Legends of Boston
Custom mural for a self described "Insane Boston Fan". My client was born in Boston, now lives in Encinitas, CA. He wanted to depict all the highlight moments, players, venues, etc that make up why Boston Sports is so great. This project was very portrait focused, lots of key figures. It was a great opportunity to bring my skillset for portraiture and fine detail.
Meet the Artist
San Diego, United StatesMy art is rooted in human connection and shared experience. Through my work, whether murals, canvases, or live art, I explore themes on the shared human experience, observations, and a deeper sense of our collective reality. My pieces are meant to transcend differences of background, culture, or circumstance; they speak to what we have in common as human beings.
In my murals, I aim to create powerful, lasting visuals that uplift and inspire. I believe in the transformative power of art: as a tool for expression, connection, and shared reflection.
For my studio/fine art pieces, I often dive into philosophical and metaphysical concepts, using visual metaphor to express ideas about existence, consciousness, and our spiritual ties to the world and each other.
I hold a C33 Specialty Painter’s Contractor’s License (California), enabling professional-grade murals, commercial and residential work.
I have worked across the Western U.S. on projects ranging from interior murals to large-scale exterior murals, commercial spaces, residential projects, corporate clients, and public/community art walls.
Some notable projects and clients:
Corporate and commercial work for clients such as national brands and businesses — including interior murals for offices, VIP lounges, wellness centers, and more.
Public and community-facing works: e.g. the mural titled “Flow State” on the Carlsbad Art Wall — a large mural blending figurative and thematic elements to evoke focus, passion, and universal connection.
Studio fine-art exhibitions under my series work (abstraction, philosophical/metaphysical themes), including gallery representation via Hotwater Gallery, Carlsbad, CA.
I am experienced in collaborating closely with clients to co-develop concepts and deliver a final piece that meets both aesthetic vision and technical standards (e.g. weather-proofing, UV protection for murals, scaffolding/lift work, etc.).
For murals: I begin with a client’s concept → creates concept sketches → lays out design on the wall → completes with color, detail, protective finishes. I emphasize quality paints and coatings to ensure longevity and durability, especially for exterior or high-traffic environments.
For studio paintings: I often work through tonal underpainting (midtones → highlights → deep tones) — layering color, light, and shadow to build depth and emotion.
Conceptually, my art aims to provoke thought, to question, to connect, to inspire. I see each piece as more than decoration, but as an invitation to reflect on human experience, unity, and shared existence.
I would describe my art practice as a lifelong commitment; a way to channel creativity, growth, and emotional authenticity into something that reaches beyond himself and connects with others.
I am available for:
Custom large-scale murals (residential, commercial, public spaces)
Canvas paintings / fine-art commissions
Live art performances (events, concerts, gatherings)
Collaborative projects - drawn from client themes and vision
I emphasize open communication and a personalized process: from concept to final execution, each project is tailored to meet the client’s needs while retaining artistic integrity. Materials and finishing are high-quality and suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.
