Learning from the great artists by Marianne Simonin in London
Learning from the great artists
In this workshop you will learn to copy the work of a great artist (different options will be given), and by looking at their technique, composition and colours scheme you understand what makes a great piece of Art. By copying you will also learn to alter the image, either the composition or the colours and discover a piece that is unique to you. Contact if interested.
I am a French artist living in London since 1980. I am essentially a painter and my work shifts between figurative and abstraction in order to explore and express what I relate to.
I work with a variety of media, essentially oils for the flexibility of the medium, but also acrylics, charcoal, inks and photography.
I have a fascination towards the 'soul' or the personality of people revealing itself through the eyes, which often let me explore portraiture of my imagination or those that intrigue me. I find each human being very fascinating.
I also explore landscapes and city sceneries, and the composition plays an important part in my work.
I frequently travel alone to find inspiration, spending many days in silence, observing, while moving from place to place.
