A mural completely co-designed by 20 primary school students in response to the Children’s Capital of Culture’s project to encourage civic pride in local schools.. Over several workshops we identified themes that made our group of students feel proud of their local area. We then ran drawing workshops for the children to generate line drawings that were included in the final design.

Dewsbury, United KingdomHarriet is a Yorkshire-based visual artist and facilitator. Her studio practice explores the human condition and environment through mark-making and portraiture, with exhibitions across the UK. She creates public art murals that connect communities to place, heritage, and identity. Passionate about the restorative power of creativity, Harriet leads workshops in schools, youth clubs, libraries, and more. Harriet also collaborates with organisations like CHOL Theatre, Beam Arts UK, Dewsbury Creative Towns, and various schools and libraries across Yorkshire.
