Las Guacamayas by Mitch Foster in Perth
Las Guacamayas
This piece is in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In a small hotel that we had the pleasure of staying in for a while. The clients were passionate about the local macaws or guacamayas. They are often taken for tourism purposes and shelters exist to protect them from such things. The clients have worked with a particular shelter in the past and thought a pair of these local birds would sit well on the property. It was quite a nice view working from up there, but always a challenge painting on a ladder.
Meet the Artist
Perth, AustraliaI'm a traveling mural artist from Australia, dedicated to creating visually stunning public art that enhances spaces and uplifts communities. My inspiration stems from the belief that beautiful environments contribute significantly to well-being, and I deeply value those who invest in enriching their surroundings through art and architecture.
My work primarily focuses on nature, with a special love for animals and plants. I enjoy incorporating local stories into my pieces, whether that means selecting animals that resonate personally with a client or depicting species native to the area.
I am a self-taught artist, having begun my journey in 2018 painting on wood panels. My first public piece was a commissioned mural in Perth, Western Australia, for a design client. I've also had the opportunity to feature my work in two galleries in Perth, Western Australia, before transitioning to travel full-time.
With experience painting in seven countries, I'm keen to collaborate on new projects and bring unique, impactful murals to clients worldwide, from commercial businesses and public spaces to private residences.
