Kingfisher by Bec James in Melbourne

Kingfisher

This was a commission I painted on a garage door. I love Kingfisher birds and the client wanted something that represented something local and something beautiful. Living near Merri Creek, the Kingfisher is a natuve bird now returned to the Merri Creek in Mlebourne. I created this design using a combination of a Kingfisher and a design I put together inspired by Japanese Art nouveau. Mediums used were acrylic and water based house paints. It still stands today!
