Jungle by ENNICOLOR in Berlin

For this commissioned work, a housing association approached us to develop and implement an artistic concept for a passageway. We were delighted to be given complete creative freedom without any set theme. To get a better sense of the space, we visited the residential area deep in the east side of Berlin. What we discovered at the end of the passageway was a small green oasis nestled between large concrete buildings. This stark contrast to the otherwise gray urban space inspired us to expand the greenery and transfer it to the walls. During the design process, we decided to paint a jungle that evokes the imagination of both children and adults who live in or pass by the area. We wanted to create a place of discovery and added endangered animals that make you think about the rainforest and its creatures.
