John Berger - Lino Cut Print
I stumbled onto John Berger’s 1972 programme ‘Ways of Seeing’ whilst nerding up on some art history stuff recently. Besides the hairdos, the points he discusses in the 4 part series are still completely relevant and transferable to today.
It’s sent me down another rabbit warren of curiosity, into his literature, poetry and art criticism.
I feel like it’s really helpful to identify with a few solid figures when trying to make sense of the deafening cacophony of noise that we’re all supposed to live with in modern life.
His is a voice that has some resonance with me at least, so this is my modest salute to him.
Meet the Artist
Brisbane, AustraliaI graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Illustration from Falmouth College of Arts in the UK in 2006 (Now Falmouth University). I completed foundation studies in Art & Design prior to this, and in the years after my graduation I worked as a portrait artist, conducting works on commission before moving to Australia in 2008.???????
In more recent years I have worked predominantly as a photographer and freelance writer for a music based agency - The B Side Agency, which I set up in 2016.
For me, the focus of my creative work has come full circle and back to my illustration and artwork from the studio. I hope that you enjoy some of it. Please do drop me a line with any feedback or enquiries that you have. I love a good yarn and always happy to discuss ideas with you.
