Inklings in the early hour
This 8-ft canvas-based diptych commission for a private Brooklyn residence is comprised of approximately 1,100 hand-sculpted, hand-painted clay roses. These roses were submerged in multiple watercolor baths up to ten times each to create the high saturations and richness in this work. These pieces can be made in any size or color palette. I often make these rose wall pieces in monochromatic color schemes. Please see my website or Insta for other examples.
Medium: Mixed Material
Meet the Artist
New York, United StatesI am a NYC-based artist creating highly textured wall-mounted clay sculptural installations out of hand-sculpted, hand-painted petals. I create custom original works on canvas and also free-form sculptural works backed on steel mesh. Projects range from just a foot or two to 20 feet or more. Sculpting everything from full-bodied roses to wild individual petal arrangements I employ a variety of painting and coloring techniques that include watercolor, acrylics, metallic alloy, sprays and even magic marker. I work both locally and internationally with designers, galleries and consultants in addition to dealing directly with clients. Clients include The Ritz-Carlton, The Waldorf Astoria and Greystar Apartments. DM me for special projects. Each work is one-of-kind.
