Imox and Persephone by Neige in Summer in Hamburg

Imox and Persephone

Imox & Persephone is a visual exploration of duality, merging Mayan cosmology and Greek mythology to reflect the complexity of being a woman. This piece embodies the balance between strength and vulnerability, life and death, intuition and transformation. In Mayan tradition, Imox is the guardian of creativity, dreams, and the subconscious, a protector of artists and a symbol of fluidity and intuition. Imox represents the chaotic yet fertile space where inspiration is born. Persephone, the Greek goddess of spring and the underworld, mirrors this duality—moving between light and shadow, creation and destruction, embracing cycles of change. By merging these two figures, the mural celebrates feminine complexity—the ability to be both powerful and soft, grounded yet ever-evolving. Painted entirely in acrylic, the bold Latin-inspired colors bring life and energy to the composition, reinforcing the dynamism of these two mythological forces. Every brushstroke reflects movement, transformation, and the beauty of embracing all facets of oneself. Imox & Persephone is an invitation to trust your intuition, embrace change, and honor the full spectrum of your being. This mural was a commissioned piece for Kunst Villa by TBD, a creative project based in Hamburg, Germany
