Ill Meet You at Rainbows End

This extra large scale canvas (150 x150cm) represents my interest in shape, pattern and the use of vibrant hues in the production of artwork. The base layer has been built up with the use of a catalyst wedge followed by more deliberate brush work to define the mountain like shapes. Opaque layers of paint have been applied over some of the shapes to increase interest and draw the viewers eye. Finally, stencilling has been added, further enhancing aesthetic appeal in the work. I have titled this artwork 'I'll Meet You at Rainbows End’ because it represents to me a vision of a mountainous scene at the end of a rainbow.

Meet the Artist

I am a formally trained Ballarat based artist who has been painting for over 20 years. I have explored various subject matter in my work including portraits, hands, animals and zentangle design. I particularly enjoy producing abstract work on large scale canvasses with an emphasis on pattern and shape. I worked collaboratively in 2020 with the City of Ballarat to produce a disposable coffee mug design. In 2021 and 2022 I produced a number of sock designs for Soxy Beast in Melbourne. As well as winning many awards for my artworks at local art shows, I was featured on Channel 10's Healthy Homes Australia in 2019. I have also been published as an Author and Illustrator of a children’s picture book titled ‘With One Eye Open’. My second picture book will be released in August this year.
