Hunger by Deborah Seah in Singapore

Hunger

Inspired by the Japanese yokai, the Futakuchi-onna, a woman with a mouth at the back of her head. Folklore tells tales of women growing mouths at the back of their heads due to hunger. How ofen do we binge on what we are deprived of? Societal expectations often lead us to subdue our needs to fit in. The need to be loved, to be seen, to be heard. That often leads us to express our hunger in so many unhealthy ways, with time growing more untamed, like a beast.
