HG Wells - Saturday Afternoons by barnieart in London

HG Wells - Saturday Afternoons

In the 1890’s Wells regularly hosted what he called ‘Saturday Afternoons’ in Surrey where people came together to talk, drink tea and play croquet. Over a century later his sentiment still stands, ‘our true nationality is mankind’. I painted and installed this piece as a long term mural as part of the Imagine Festival in Sutton.
