Headspace Community Mural Ballarat, Australia (2026) by Yeimy Sanchez in Hawthorn

A community-designed mural celebrating cultural diversity, belonging, and youth voices in Ballarat. Developed through a series of creative co-design workshops with young people from the Ballarat community, this mural celebrates cultural diversity, belonging, and connection. The process involved headspace Ballarat’s Youth Reference Group and students from Ballarat High School participating in the Centre for Multicultural Youth Ballarat program. Inspired by themes of growth, safety, and nurture, the artwork features a vibrant garden of national flowers representing the diverse cultural identities within the community—what one participant described as “culture brought together by nature.” Through nature-inspired forms and colour, the mural creates a calm and welcoming environment for young people and families visiting the centre.
