Hands of Healthcare by DDCS in Pensacola
Hands of Healthcare
This was a series of 20 hand illustrations for the new Baptist Hospital facility in Pensacola, Florida. The hands were illustrated with conté, inspired in traditional anatomical sketches, and as a historical nod of the intersection of the arts and sciences. "Hands of Healthcare" shows the hands of healthcare workers of the Baptist system as they do their work, each was photographed by the artist. The series includes the hands of doctors, nurses, lab techs, transporters, clerical workers, and other healthcare workers of the hospital. The props they use are barely gestured with fine lines. The illustrations are currently hanging in different floors of the hospital. This series highlights the humanity of the healthcare system, which is often deemed as unfair, uncaring, and cold, but is composed of dedicated individuals that have a calling for helping others.
Meet the Artist
Pensacola, United StatesHey there. I'm a multimedia artist with a background in fine arts, a degree in Graphic Design, and have experience in large-scale artwork for the past 10 years. I run a conceptual art studio out of Pensacola, Florida. We have done projects in the U.S., England, Spain, and Venezuela.
I specialize in branding and spatial design; my large-scale murals and installations are intentionally designed to fit a brand and a space. My commission work varies depending on the client, from a single paintings for a homeowner to a series of 20 illustration commission for a new hospital facility. I have a diverse artist portfolio, but throughout every piece there is a common denominator of deep concepts and thoughtful narratives. I believe that artwork that carries meaning can have true positive impact, creates emotional connections, and connects us to something deeper.
