Gumboot Dance Sculptures
These are mini sculptures representing the famous Gumboot dabe performed by mine workers in Johannesburg South Africa. Next to each dancer is a dustbin, an iconic part of the dance.
The figurines cast in resin and hand painted. These were my personal projects that l made and sold in the craft market.
Meet the Artist
Exeter, United KingdomI am a Nigerian born, South Africa based artist. My name is Ezefuna Ozor-Ejike, is a celebrated figure in the vWall Mural Art production for OOH Advertisement agencies and other private institutions across South Africac.
Renowned for my hyper-realistic paintings, I got good at capturing the essence of portraits and landscapes with striking detail and emotional depth. My large-scale wall murals and installations like the Cooling Towers of Soweto, has been pivotal in outdoor advertising campaigns, blending aesthetic allure with commercial insight, marking urban landscapes with visual splendour.
My sculptural works, utilising materials like carbon fibre and epoxy resin, showcase a fusion of traditional artistry with modern techniques, reflecting my commitment to evolving art forms.
As a VFX compositor and Augmented Reality artist, l skilfully navigate the realms of stop-motion and 2D animation, demonstrating his versatility across digital and traditional mediums.
In roles as a creative director, art facilitator, operation director, and lead artist, I have exemplified leadership and artistic vision, guiding diverse projects with precision and creativity.
Beyond my artistic creations, l am dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists. Through mentorship, hl empower aspiring artists to make a living from their passion, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience to guide them in navigating the complexities of the art industry.
