Guhnginy means waterhole in the Lower Richmond dialect of the Bundjalung language. These three paintings represent the passage of people across country and how we interact with our oceans and rivers.

Meet the Artist
Melbourne, Australia Katie Bugden is a Kamilaroi visual artist currently based in Naarm
(Melbourne).
Working across numerous mediums, her work centres on themes of
Country, flora, fauna, and connection.
Katie specialises in telling stories through her art. She pays
homage to her ancestors and the Elders of the land she lives and
works on. Katie has a deep spiritual connection to culture and
Country.
Katie’s main medium is acrylic on canvas but has great proficiency
in the digital medium and murals as witnessed with her partnerships with
Canva, Motor Neurone Disease Victoria, The Alannah and Madeline
Foundation, NBL’s Phoenix, and Super Rugby’s Melbourne Rebels.
