I am a 40 year old male who spent nearly my entire adult life as a framer, building houses in Calgary for 20 years. In the summer of 2021 I fell into a basement at work, shattering my heel. I threw myself into my art, which I had always put on a back burner.
I have been off work for almost 3 years and have been offering my artistic services to the city for the last year to 18 months.
I specialize in portraits, both graphite grey scale, and acrylic painting on canvas. I’ve also done a few landscapes, some metal engravings and some furniture building and design.
My two largest and most visible pieces were; a mural for a wonderful couple in airdrie all done cartoon style, featuring their prize winning Great Danes. It was about a 3 week project, and covered a lot of area.
The other was a recent mural inside the new Abbeys Ice Cream shop location in Mission. It took about 3 days. But I’ve definitely had my fare share of strange and exciting customers and jobs that have kept me growing as an artist!
