Goblin Woman 1 by Rachel Mills in Glasgow

Goblin Woman 1

My first Goblin Woman was my first foray into expressionism. It began on my living room floor in a moment of animalistic fear, uncertainty and power that I felt necessary to convey She sparked an entire series of sisters who would arrive in a similar way; through a certain emotion. I love creating them, since it feels like dancing out my feelings on paper. The entire series was done on scrap brown paper using mainly charcoal, gouache, and ink. This piece and the beginning of the series started in 2019, the creation of them have practically halted, but every now and again another emerges.
