Generations

This mixed media piece is an ode and reference to my family and Guyanese/Indian culture. The number of utensils represents a set of family members while the powder used to both dye them their color and create piles on top is a common spice used when cooking traditional Indian dishes. The layering and falling spices is meant to signify the knowledge and cultural traditions that get passed down through generations
