Unlike traditional art, which was based on the beauty or perfection of the final product or the technical skills of the artist, Dikla Stern’s pictorial, interdisciplinary, and experimental creative activity borrows from Conceptual Art and focusses on the intellectual exchange underlying the contents of the works. Starting from scraps of thoughts, her works develop into mental formations that feed on various impressions. Primarily the outer world, but also her own experience as an entwinement of internal and external elements plays a role in the artist’s works. The usage of writing is a core key element in Dikla Stern’s works.
