Meet the Artist
Cheung Sha, Hong KongMaggie Wong Ho Yee (黃皓怡) is a Hong Kong-based artist specializing in watercolor. Her practice spans across illustration for novels and picture books, mural painting, portraiture, watercolor teaching, and creative workshops. Her works have gained international recognition, including being selected among the Top 50 at the 2025 IlloBoom! International Illustration Awards and the Top 200 at the Korea ArtPick Opencall Season 4. Her paintings have also been showcased at art fairs and exhibitions across various countries and regions.
Drawing inspiration from ecological studies of forest and marine life, Maggie explores the spaces, behaviors, and sensory experiences of different species, as well as the contrasts in human perception of them. Her works investigate the interactions between humans and nature, weaving narratives through imagination to depict the tranquility and mystery of the natural world. Through this, she invites viewers to find a moment of respite and reflection, forming the essence of her artistic vision.
