Fragile Serenity by Bronwyn Made This in Toowoomba

Having recently left my corporate job due to burn out and a feeling of constantly drowning, I found myself with time to process all that had unfolded, and felt a sense of serenity that had long been forgotten. In a personal exploration of what this change meant to me, I painted out my emotions in minute detail, with layer upon layers of blue acrylic paint in varying shades, slowly building texture. I felt moments of light and then moments of still, and decided to capture this with iridescent highlights throughout the piece. To finish it off, I wanted to capture the serenity I felt, but also how fragile that feeling of calm seemed, and so I used tissue paper to paint the figure in the middle.
