Fort Saskatchewan Volunteer Break Room Mural by Carla Skibinsky in Fort Saskatchewan

Fort Saskatchewan Volunteer Break Room Mural

This was a surprise mural for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank to thank the volunteers for their contributions! They asked for some design ideas, based on the information I was given, I designed & painted this mural. I wanted to incorporate all the colours of their logo (green, teal, cream & a very dark teal colour). I also some how wanted to incorporate something to do with gardens and growing as they had recently put in garden beds, where they can now grow their own food. Also the food bank itself grew in size (moved to a much bigger space) - from under 2000 sq ft to over 50,000 sq ft. I thought the quote I came up with for this design was fitting and played on a few different concepts. “VOLUNTEERS, THANK YOU FOR HELPING US GROW” (the building growing & being able to grow their own food & the volunteers making all this happen)
