Forest food fest by Van Go - Wall Murals in Aspley
Forest food fest
This collaborative mural was painted using donated acrylics onto wooden panels of the fence at our local community gardens. This was not just my work.
The space holds a forest food festival once a year, inviting local musicians and performers to promote the foods grown and efforts of the volunteers throughout the year. The local homeschool group meets here every week and the children learn about horticulture and help tend to the gardens.
The mural was painted by members of the homeschool, the volunteers and entertainers. It displays a sample of the surrounding fauna and flora and of course a little fairy magic too.
It just happens to be me in this photo. I have worked on many outdoor community projects like this, over the years, at schools or on fences. I enjoy working with a group and watching the picture evolve with all the different perspectives.
Meet the Artist
Aspley, AustraliaI am a Brisbane based artist who works across a range of mediums including mural art, mosaic and tattoo. I've been drawing, painting and designing since I was a child. I run a mobile paint and sip business called Van Go. I have contracted at an art studio in Mackay. My talent for teaching makes art classes, workshops and parties easy and fun for beginners. I love painting the mysteries of deep sea, outer space and fantasy scenes, taking the time to add details such as glowing edges. Flora and faces are fun too.
