When I'm not creating art, I am a wife, a mom of two, and a full-time research associate at the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle, WA. @aleninstitute 🧠 👩🏻🔬
When I was a kid, my mom noticed in me a talent for realistic drawing and eventually bought me my first set of watercolors and art books. I remember she would take me to her college classes and I would carry a bag with crayons and papers and sit quietly drawing. My mom continued to support me by enrolling me in art classes all the way to high school. Then, in college, I continued seeking opportunities to practice art in my spare time. I've had a few mentors/teachers in my journey that have really helped me grow in this area, like Carlos Estrada-Vega and Julia Hitchcock. Platforms like @youtube, @domestika , and @skillshare have also allowed me to grow in my art skills and confidence.
And so here I am! I want to simply share my art and skills with you.
It is in my heart to also use my skills to advocate for causes that I believe in, like @eachstephome as well as to elevate my culture as well as women figures through my portraits and prints. 🫀✍🏻🖼️
