Meet the Artist
Toronto, CanadaGraduating from Sheridan College in 2016 with a BA in illustration, davidis a man who primarily paints murals and large scale artwork. His style can be summed up as a mix of fine art and illustration.
Initially comics, motion graphics, and short cartoons were what david was creating for his clients however, after the first
mural he painted - the rest became history.
One of david’s biggest influences is South Asian history and culture, nowhere is this more evident than in his art. Combining traditional patterns with realistic portraits, scenery, acrchitecure and incorporating 3 dimensional elements such as faux jewels, the art begins to take a life of its own.
Interesting enough, david’s first job right out of (actually during) college was to create a comic for an independent publisher. This saw him sent to Turkey’s capital Istanbul, not long after a failed coup. This visit saw riots, the aftermath of a massive suicide bombing, a nightclub shooting amongst other things during a relatively unstable period.
This however, is a story best reserved for a glass of finebourbon...
