Fake Book - Pan's Labyrinth Cover by Ulrich Studios in Beaverton

This was a project to test my hand-lettering skills and create a bookcover for a film that was not based on a book. Choosing Guillermo del Toro's wonderful film Pan's Labyrinth as my subject. I pulled from my love of Art Nouveau and Art Deco for the style of this piece. Trying to weave in as many references from through out the film as possible, focusing on the fantastical elements. As for the color palette I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. This would make the line work in the lettering and illustrations more prominent. As well as make for a more eye catching design from far away, increasing it's marketability. Although this was only a study I'm quite proud of what I accomplished within this piece.
