Exhibition Work: "Growing Apart"

Mix media on canvas (spray paint, embroidery & oil paint) One of my most colorful works. Also for my exhibition. This art was intended to portray the process of how a couple grew apart from each other and I thought what better way to do so than literally painting them breaking into two with green strings in the middle trying to keep them together. I chose green to represent nature and the color of plants to symbolize growth and the pink spray paint was to maintain the theme of love throughout my works. I decided to paint the faces with black and white as I believe that they no longer have that colorful passion in them which separates them as a whole.
