Estrella Damm - The Black Friar by Melissa Hartley in London
Estrella Damm - The Black Friar
I transformed two garden pods for The Black Friar Salford in collaboration with Estrella Damm, with the support of Skye Victoria Projects. Embracing an English floral theme to complement the British pub atmosphere, I designed the artwork accordingly. After approval, I executed the installation using a combination of paint, collage, and gold leaf. Photographs by Jack Kirwin.
Meet the Artist
London, United KingdomI am Melissa Hartley, a London-based artist and muralist. I graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2019 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and have been a full-time artist since. My approach combines harmonised colour palettes and shapes, inspired by my passion for geometric abstraction and architectural influences. I live and work in London and continue to exhibit throughout the UK. My works also feature in international private collections across the UK, USA, and Europe.
My passion for mural art began in 2019 when I graduated. I was fortunate to create bespoke murals for restaurant chains and witness how artwork could completely transform a space. I enjoy working to a brief while also incorporating my own geometric/abstract style into the designs.
