Meet the Artist
Tiruppur, IndiaAbout Me
I am Barathi, a self-taught artist from Tamil Nadu, and painting is one of the ways I express my imagination, emotions, and the way I see the world.
My artwork explores different subjects and styles. I enjoy creating realistic black-and-white portraits, expressive human faces, detailed pencil-style artworks, and colourful canvas paintings. I am also deeply inspired by Indian mythology, Tamil culture, spirituality, and traditional stories, which I like to reinterpret through my own artistic vision.
I love working with details — especially expressions, eyes, faces, textures, and the small elements that make an artwork feel alive. Whether it is a monochrome portrait or a vibrant mythological painting, I want my work to feel personal rather than simply being a reproduction of a reference.
I am continuously learning and experimenting with different techniques, mediums, compositions, and styles. Every painting is an opportunity for me to improve, discover something new, and bring an idea from my imagination onto the canvas.
For me, art is not just about making something look beautiful. It is about creating something that carries emotion, tells a story, and makes the viewer pause and feel something.
I paint what inspires me, what moves me, and what I want to bring to life.
