Emerald city of Dallas
Emerald city of Dallas was painted for the Arts and Culture department of Dallas.
They hosted a contest for a mural that would bring light, levity, joy to the people of Dallas. The mural was displayed in a park.
The idea for this arose in several conversations I had with people. While the Emerald city of the movie was more about riches and wealth, the Emerald city of Dallas was more about the people.
One could walk the gold brick road to the city through the fields of Texas bluebonnets.
Or one could take the rainbow road.
And it’s representative of the social changes of Dallas and how the city is opening its heart to love.
Meet the Artist
Dallas, United StatesJaison Hollis is a visionary artist whose work explores the mystical and unseen, translating profound inner experiences into vivid, emotive paintings. With over a decade of experience in fine art, his creations are a fusion of color, movement, and meaning—each piece a portal into the wisdom and wonder of the human spirit.
Inspired by the beauty of transformation and the power of expression, Jaison’s art invites viewers into a dialogue with their own intuition. His work has been displayed at Perspective 6 gallery in Deep Ellum, adorned the walls of studios and public spaces, and found a home in private collections and community spaces like the Dallas Movement Collective.
Beyond the canvas, Jaison is passionate about fostering creativity in others, engaging in live painting at festivals and collaborating on public art projects that bring vibrant energy to shared spaces. Every brushstroke is an exploration, a meditation, and an offering—an invitation to see the world through new eyes.
