El Confidente Self Portrait at 20

This piece is a visual extension of self reflection that I’ve been faced with since turning 20 this past year. The process of making this piece allowed me to expand my oil painting techniques and fuel a sense of grace through embracing myself as a work in progress. The unfinished reality in the mirror is a glimpse into the future, fully accepting, as El Confidente places his feet on the ground with blind trust. The alternative mirror version of himself is open for interpretation, a conversation about confidence and how it's defined.
