Editorial Illustration - THE NAKED MOUNTAIN by Shao Ni in Taipei

I'm a Taiwanese visual storyteller who makes illustrations and books. I hold an MA in Sequential Design/Illustration from the University of Brighton. I've been creating picture books since 2019, and my debut author-illustrator picture book, The Crow and the Cherry Blossom, was published in Taiwan, China and Poland. My illustrations were a finalist in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition and received a merit award in the 3x3 International Illustration Show. In addition to publishing, I create editorial illustrations for literary works. Blending poetic language with cinematic pacing, my work frequently explores memory, identity, and queer experience—often through metaphor, montage, and negative space, evoking a sense of nostalgia and magical realism.
