EDI Mural by Chabizzel in Southampton

This is the final piece of my final major project as part of my Foundation Art Diploma course. My project focuses on how street art can bring communities together and make a place feel more inclusive for everyone, encouraging people to pay attention to the world around them and to engage with their environment rather than disconnect with their community. I wanted to look at what's important to Barton Peveril and what makes it stand out as a college. I believe when most people choose this college they are drawn in by its diverse community and its attitude towards anti-racism with clubs like the EDI committee. I painted this mural with spray paints and Acrylic using stencils to achieve a unique mix of the two, my first time doing it at this scale. This has really been an experience and tested my skills as an artist, I am excited for new opportunities this will bring for me.
