Dont Compare Yourself - Face Lettering Series by Lauren Liz, Muralist & Visual Artist in San Francisco

Dont Compare Yourself - Face Lettering Series

This self-directed photo series explores the intersection of hand lettering, body positivity, and visual storytelling. I designed, modeled for, and art-directed the shoot, using bold, hand-lettered phrases painted directly onto the face as a medium for empowerment. The phrase “don’t compare yourself” anchors the series, encouraging self-acceptance and challenging harmful beauty standards and comparison culture—especially those often imposed on women. By using the face as a literal canvas, the work invites viewers to confront internalized messages and rewrite them with compassion, visibility, and truth.
