Do those legs go all the way up?
I used procreate to draw this piece before posting (and watermarking) it on my Instagram. I wanted to create something with symbolism to the female body and the recent lack of choice in the U.S due to the recent election. The laying down, bare doll body reflects a woman in an almost 'pushing up' position, unable to use her legs to stand without the help of her arms, yet still trying. The lack of arms reflects a lack of choice, referring to the women in the U.s who unfortunately lost the rights to their own bodies in the law's eyes.
Meet the Artist
Boksburg, South AfricaHello :) I'm a self-taught artist from South Africa. As a little girl, I absolutely loved anything to do with art and I would spend hours drawing and doodling and painting. I'd like to think I'm making "little me" happy by doing what I love, even today. In the past, I've done around 20 art commissions via Instagram and TikTok (digital & print).
