Django by Kelci Acree in Jersey City

Kelci Acree is a multidisciplinary artist whose work entails painting, designing, textiles, and sewing. She is self taught in all fields. Her paintings focus on various musicians from around the world who she studies before beginning each piece. The genres of music she has represented with her work so far span from Chanson, Jazz, Samba, Afro-beat, High-Life, Classical, Bossa-Nova, and Italian Swing. Her aim with these pieces are to not only express her own admiration for the musician’s work, but also to educate others on their life, their accomplishments, and impact on the world. She has collaborated musician 13th Ward Social Club who has used her paintings for releases ‘Water No Get Enemy’ and ‘Preciso Me Encontrar.’ Her concepts for her vintage fashion designs derive from golden-era films, along with artists she loves. She’s designed and sewn dresses for weddings, Mardi Gras, and music videos. She has collaborated with musician 13thwardsocial club as a creative director for his releases ‘Water No Get Enemy’ and ‘Preciso Me Encontrar.’
